Dear Church Leaders
I trust that you are all well.
We wish to extend a word of thanks to all of you for coming to the Procession of Witness on Saturday. It was really well organised and successful. We also wish to thank all the Church Leaders who sent some messages of support and delegates on their behalf. We know for the fact that your hearts and prayers were with us during this Procession of Witness. We could feel the Spirit of the Lord on this Holy Saturday and it led the Archbishop Thabo Makgoba to speak to the truth to power. Through the Archbishop God spoke to His people, the South African nation and the world. We thank you Your Grace. We also thank the religious leaders who prayed before we started the walk to parliament.
The Procession of Witness was graced by the presence of various religious leaders including the two Emeritus Archbishops namely, Arch. Desmond Tutu, Arch. Njongonkulu Ndungane. We were also graced by the presence of Arch. Stephen Brislin, the Rector of Stellenbosch University and Minister Prof Russel Botman, the Moderators and Bishops from various denominations, and Leaders from various religious communities, to mention but a few. We thank all the members of our denominations and faith communities that came to support the Procession.
The truth is that this was just a beginning of our Witness and Walk. We will continue to give this public witness to the Lord as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ in (Acts:1:8) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”
On behalf of the Chairperson of the Church Leaders’ Consultation Archbishop Thabo Makgoba we say thank you very much once again for making the Holy Saturday Procession of Witness a success. Remember: We will continue to Witness to the Truth.
God bless you all.
Warm regards,
Sipho
