Shohreh Rawhani represented the Baha’i community on the Board of the National Religious Association for Social Development (NRASD), an association which partners with the Government to work on societal issues such as poverty alleviation, primary education, illiteracy and primary health care. She was born in Tehran, Iran, to a Baha’i family. After a few years her family moved to London, UK, where she grew up. Inspired by the teachings of the Baha’i Faith, Shohreh dedicated her life to service from an early age and this dedication lasted for all her days on this earthly plane. She married Suha Rawhani on 21 April 1984 and by 5 May 1984 they had settled in South Africa as Baha’i pioneers, in Mothothlong near Garankuwa and Brits. They later moved to Johannesburg, where their home remains a home to many.
